Condiseration in Choosing Faucet

One of the factors for our consideration in choosing a water faucet is the type of material it is made of. The type of faucet material affects the strength and durability as well as the service life of a faucet product. Even so, we must also remember that this type of material also influences or even greatly affects the price factor of a faucet. The better the material, the more expensive the price of the faucet. There are several types of the best bathroom faucets materials on the market, we can classify the types of these materials into 4 groups:

– Brass
Brass is a mixture of copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) metal. Brass has resistance to corrosion and leakage, so it is very suitable for use as a material for making faucets. There are brass water faucets that are marketed without a plating layer, suitable for classic Baroque-style bathrooms and some are also given a plating layer so that they are more durable and also look more attractive. water faucets made of brass material usually have a longer service life and are also marketed at a higher price than other types of faucets. However, for easy processing, brass material needs to be mixed with lead or lead (Pb). After 2014, restrictions on lead content in tap products were tightened by world industry standards cause lead is known to be detrimental to human health. To meet these standards, faucet manufacturers use other additives in the manufacturing process.

– Stainless Steel
A faucet that made of stainless steel are a cheaper option in terms of price than their brass counterparts. Even though it is called stainless steel, it is not 100% anti-rust either. Errors in the production process and lack of understanding of the users can cause damage due to corrosion. The level of resistance of water faucets from stainless steel material is under the water faucet with brass material. However, with technological developments, the stainless steel material used is getting stronger. The absence of lead content in stainless steel faucets is an added value for human health. good quality stainless steel faucets generally use stainless steel 304 or even stainless steel 316 which is more resistant to acid content. Make sure in choosing a stainless steel faucet there is an inclusion of the type of stainless used. If only “stainless steel” is listed, usually the quality of the faucet is not good.

– Zinc Alloy
Zinc Alloy is an alloy of zinc (Zn) with aluminum (Al), magnesium (Mg), and copper (Cu). This material is generally used as a material for low-quality faucets. The advantage is that the price is quite cheap so it is very easy to find on the market. Its level of durability is very low compared to its brass and stainless steel counterparts or stainless steel. This type of faucet will easily rot and quickly experience corrosion compared to the two partners mentioned in the two pins above.

– Plastic
This is the cheapest alternative to faucets. The added value of the tap from this plastic material is that it does not contain any lead at all. However, due to its lower durability than metal faucets, this type of faucet is better used in areas that are protected from the weather.
